I ended up getting a rash the majority on my body and had no idea why. I tried everything over the counter including oatmeal baths to changing my laundry soap and new bed sheets and nothing worked. I couldn’t take it any longer and went to Renown Urgent Care one weekend and was given a steroid pill. It worked for a day then my rash was back. I went to my primary doctor and she thought I had strep. I was given a steroid shot and said if that doesn’t work we will get you in to see a dermatologist. I waited for days for a referral and couldn’t take it any longer. I had to be proactive because it was starting to affect my quality of life and my stress level was very high. That is when I found Kyle Machynia, PA. He knew within one minute of seeing me, I had eczema. I was shocked! I had never been diagnosed with eczema before in my 41 years and you would think your primary doctor would mention this since it’s so common in people. I was impressed! He even had a UNR student shadowing him and I thought that was wonderful. And the UNR student even knew within a minute it was eczema as well. I was given a prescription of cream to help and it worked immediately. He even recommended an over the counter moisturizing cream to replace my current lotion. I cannot thank you enough and will be recommending your team to everyone.

Had my annual skin exam yesterday with Dr. Mortensen. He was very thorough and found what may be a spot on my arm that needed to be sent to pathology to check to see if it is a cancer. He was very skilled as he removed the small spot. Dr. Mortensen also found a few spots that needed to be frozen. I was pleased with the way my appointment went, and appreciated the nurse who helped me get an appointment for next year. The people at Integrated Dermatology are caring professionals, and I thank them for that.

Dr. Mortensen was thorough in looking over my skin which last year was much worse, at least he had to burn a lot of things off. I pointed out my thumbnail and said I have had this problem since 2013 when I had my hails done and the person who did them pulled out a tool from a very full jar of tools, and I can't get rid of what ever it was, and my insurance wouldn't pay for the medicine to get rid of it. I have been soaking my thumb in vinegar and on many nights putting Vaseline on it and putting a sock over my hand to help get rid of what ever it is. The doctor gave me a sample to try to get rid of it. I hope it is enough to get rid of this unsightly mess. It does look like it is getting better. Dr. Mortensen and his assistant were very polite and kind.

I came in for a cancer screen and mole removal. I was concerned about a certain spot in particular, but after the doctor examined it and let me know it was normal, I felt a lot better. When having the mole removal spots dressed I requested paper tape because I have an allergy to most tape. It was even listed on my paperwork I filled out prior to being seen. They used a tape that caused an awful allergic reaction, my skin is actually red and blistering around the site of the mole removal. You would think with them being knowledgeable about skin and allergies this would not have happened, but here we are, itchy as ever. I would not trust any prescriptions given here due to the oversight on allergic reactions. I appreciate the doctor doing what I came for, but I wish they would have listened when I told them about my allergy to tape.

The visit went as hoped. I went in for minor skin issues on my face. Dr Mortensen was attentive, pleasant and professional. He looked, evaluated and did what was needed. The other personnel were all very friendly and made it easy to get paperwork and insurance recorded, and answered all my questions. Nice group.
